Ego and Detachment

Ego is something we have to confront everyday to keep reminding ourselves to lose it. It's the belief that something occured because of you, or the other way around --  if it applies.

During this workshop, I had experienced what I would call my first Yoga-related injury. It hurt real bad. The hard part was understanding why that had to happen. Was it wrong for the teacher to make the call and hyperextend my muscles or compress my bones? Was it my fault for not being physically able to handle the instructions? Or was it the environment that caused it?

It helped me cope and accept that certain things just happen and there's no point in trying to make sense of it and trying to craft stories that would (liberate) us from the blame.

Just let go.
